This project involved the design of a contemporary, single storey kitchen extension and internal remodelling for an existing Grade II listed Town House.
The extensive use of glazing throughout has allowed for high levels of natural daylight into the space whilst the design of the overhanging roof structure eliminates overheating by direct sunlight, providing shadowing to the new extension.
Incorporated into the design are ground level, fully glazed sliding doors which create a spacious kitchen and dining area that fully integrates with its external garden environment, providing a natural link between internal and external living.Base Architecture took the Project through to the successful completion of the Planning, Listed Building and Conservation consents and was handed back to the Client. The project was then taken through to completion by Design Forum.
