Planning and Listed Building Consent granted on Grade II property

We have received permission for alterations and extension to a prominent Shrewsbury property. The client’s brief was to design a contemporary extension which would be of its time to a high quality in order to complement the existing house. Using the proportions and dimensions of the original property, we were able to create a truly contemporary glazed kitchen and dining space which fully integrates with its external environment through the use of folding sliding doors.

Apart from the extension we reviewed the internal layout of the property and worked with the client to create the spaces they required. Access to the property was also reviewed and permission granted for a new opening in the wall adjacent to the highway to create an appropriate access to the house. The permission was only granted after detailed conversations and negotiation with both planning and listed buildings officers.
