base Architecture are committed to environmentally responsive design. We carefully review the sourcing of materials, application of technology and reuse of existing building fabric where possible. Budgets are carefully reviewed to ensure that the technology being incorporated falls within the construction value, avoiding late changes which can compromise the environmental responsiveness of the building.

Zero carbon property design is at the forefront of our thinking, utilising ground source heat pumps, solar energy, rainwater harvesting, grey water harvesting and natural site orientation.

We have developed concept properties which push the boundaries of current thinking and challenge the market place. Existing buildings also require a reduction in the energy they use. We have worked on listed properties which need very careful consideration regarding insulation and carbon reduction.
