base Architecture is working on retail schemes within the UK. Our approach is to work closely with centre management, end users and other stakeholders to provide a rounded solution to the design process.

We are currently designing spaces which push the limits of permitted design to allow the end user as much flexibility as possible.

This allows for frequent change in an environment dependant on fashion. This fluid approach also benefits centre management and allows for shorter periods of retail down time whilst alterations are taking place.

We have worked on retail projects within listed buildings, which require a particularly intense process of rapid negotiation with English Heritage and the local authorities, conservation and planning departments.
