Base Cares – Charity of the Month, February

Our February #basecares donation goes to Teenage Cancer Trust, which funds specialist hospital units, nurses and youth workers across the UK that provide outstanding age-appropriate care and emotional support to those in need.

It was selected by our Practice Coordinator, Chelsea Wilkes, as she has been fundraising in memory of her friend Cara who lost her battle with a rare form of cancer at the end of 2021.

Every day, seven young people in the UK aged 13 to 24 hear the devastating words “you have cancer” and their lives are turned upside down. Teenage Cancer Trust’s vital services for young people with cancer are entirely dependent on fundraised income.

A spokesperson for Teenage Cancer Trust said: “Nothing we do as a charity would be possible without the incredible fundraising efforts of companies like Base Architecture and their employees like Chelsea.

“We can’t thank them enough, because the money raised will help fund our incredible nurses and services that support teenagers and young people with cancer through the toughest times imaginable.”
