This month’s Base Cares donation goes to the Bowelbabe fund, set up by Dame Deborah James before her death last month and nominated by our business and planning executive, Lucy Grubb.
The fund has so far raised more than £7m to fund clinical trials and research into personalised medicine for cancer patients and supporting campaigns to raise awareness of bowel cancer.
Lucy said: “I was inspired by Deborah and her selfless attitude in launching the fund, particularly in the face of such personal tragedy. The fund is an incredible legacy to an amazing woman and I’m delighted that Base can support it in our own small way.”
