New Architectural Designer

We have welcomed Dan Gibbons, a Part 2 qualified architectural designer, to our team.

Dan graduated from Birmingham City University in 2019 with a Part 1 qualification and worked in a multi-disciplinary architectural practice in London for two years. During his time there, he primarily worked on external refurbishment projects that included the replacement of combustible materials to multi storey residential buildings as a result of the Grenfell fire tragedy.

In 2021, he began studying for his Part 2 qualification at Cardiff University and completed his Master’s design thesis focused on urban sprawl in Shrewsbury and its impact on the local historical character of the town.

Dan said he was excited to be joining the Base team. “Having grown up on the building site which later became my childhood home, I have a particular interest in residential architecture at a personal level and how I can use my skills to translate that into dream homes for our clients,” he explained.

“I’m planning to continue my studies with a Part 3 qualification and progress towards being a qualified architect. The vast experience of the Base team and the wide range of projects that we work on as a practice will be a great learning ground for me.”

Managing director Harry Reece added: “Dan brings an exciting extra dimension to our growing team and we’re delighted to have him on board. “We look forward to working with him and supporting him as he studies for his final architecture qualifications.”
