Paragraph 55 Project in Buildit Magazine

Gaining planning permission to build a new home in the countryside can be a challenge so we’re delighted that the story of our client’s successful Paragraph 55 project (now known as Paragraph 79) features in the latest edition of Build It magazine.

The National Planning Policy Framework says permission should only be granted for isolated new builds in these areas if they reuse redundant or disused buildings or are of exceptional and innovative architectural design.

We worked with David and Annabel Jones to deliver their vision of an outstanding and innovative sustainable family home on the site of derelict former agricultural building near Child’s Ercall in Shropshire. For more pictures, click here.

The six-page feature tells the story of the Jones’ journey from planning to completion and useful hints on how to manage your own Paragraph 55 build.

As David says: “The whole process we went through just highlights the importance of getting the right architect on board – someone who can handle the design side of things as well as dealing with planners.”
