This project involved the design and creation of an orangery structure in order to extend the existing kitchen ito create a large open plan modern living and entertaining space.
The property is a Grade II listed Georgian country house which needed some sensitive alterations without compromising the original form of the building.
What We Did
During the development of the design we closely liaised with the Local Authority Conservation Officer to provide a scheme which would balance the clients overall brief whilst taking into account the Listed status of the building.
Base managed the initial design and planning application stage of works and also undertook the Building Regulations, Tender and Contract Administration providing our concept to completion service for the scheme.
The result
This simple orangery extension neatly joins the existing kitchen into the main garden creating a flexible living environment ideal for quiet contemplation and entertaining.
The design reflects the existing style of the period but discretely incorporates modern technology and sits comfortably with the existing house.
