Kenstone manor is a prestigious home that was the former seat of the Kenstone Estate, in North Shropshire. Primarily of Georgian design, the building had been historically adapted but had not bought up to modern living standards when its owners approached us.

What We Did
When our clients first got in touch they had only just purchased the property and appointed us to carry out a full evaluation of the existing layout to understand what opportunity the property presented.
Following our review we developed a proposal that incorporated a side extension in the form of an orangery which gave additional floor space to the original back-of-house rooms, and which retained the features and proportions of the original formal rooms to the front.
We created a large open plan kitchen living and dining space that had both views and connectivity with the property’s courtyard and formal gardens. At first floor we considered options to create a new configuration for the bedrooms, creating large bed spaces with integrated ensuites and walk-in dressing rooms.
The result
The finished result has created a modernised property that has retained the character and charm of the original manor house, alongside a sophisticated open-plan living / kitchen / dining space that is a delight to behold.
