Overview
Maes Isa consisted of extensive and remodelling to an existing Art Deco property sat within Glan Conwy, North Wales.
The property is situated on the crest of a hill within a conservation area and therefore any potential design proposal had to be sensitively considered due to how it could be seen from the immediate locality.

What We Did
The property had not been updated for a significant period of time and the internal configuration and zoning of the home had to be carefully considered to meet modern living standards, retain the charm of the property and also benefit from the incredible views that the site had across Glan Conwy and the Conwy River.

We worked closely with the Local Authority in order to establish the best design principles for the two storey rear extension and the Conservation Officer commented on the success of integrating the contemporary form into the existing property.
The result
With the main house fully remodelled the contemporary extension incorporated a large open plan kitchen / dining space with direct engagement to a rear garden overlooking the river.
This approach also allowed us to also consider a master bedroom suite above with a balcony benefiting from the same views.
