This project was a brownfield site in north Shropshire on the border with Cheshire, and had previously been used as a petrol station prior to the above-ground structures being demolished.
Overview
Our clients, supported by a global hotel chain, sought to develop a zero-carbon hotel whilst also incorporating Passivhaus technologies within the structure and operation of the hotel.
The reuse of previously developed land rather than a ‘green field’ site for the scheme aligned with the core values of the business, which ensures sustainability and regeneration form the foundations of their projects.
What We Did
Our Shrewsbury and Chester teams worked collaboratively to design and deliver a hotel with a total of eighty beds, alongside associated restaurant and fitness spaces and conference rooms available for hire for business and local events.
We also worked closely with our clients’ retained London-based interior designers to ensure that the external appearance of the building aligned with their branding and design principles.
