Overview
This project involved the development of a new residential home within the garden of the Clients existing house.
The property was developed as a self-build scheme with timber clad walls to help it sit within its wooded environment and was positioned to take advantage of the views to the east of the site.
What We Did
Base Architects were commissioned from the planning, building regulations and tender stages of work, alongside administration of the construction phase of works onsite.
The site sits within a shallow valley and has a sloping wooded backdrop to its rear. The design carefully considered the position of the dwelling to make the best use of both the location and its setting.
The client’s requirements were carefully considered within the initial design stage in order to provide a series of interconnected spaces on the ground floor where the visual connection between the spaces could be maintained.
At first floor, three bedrooms are provided with each taking advantage of views and incorporating large full height windows and Juliet balconies
