This scheme involved the extensive conversion of an historic malting building close to the centre of Shrewsbury to provide 37 no. high specification apartments over four floors.
Overview
This scheme involved the extensive conversion of an historic malting building close to the centre of Shrewsbury.
The goal was to provide 37 high specification apartments over four floors, with one of the top two apartments also benefiting from access to a rooftop terrace and office / study.
What We Did
Base Architects gained planning and building regulations approval and also supported the contractor during the onsite construction phase.
The result
The external appearance of the building remains mostly unchanged with alterations concentrating mainly on revised internal arrangements and upgrades to both windows and roof lights.
The built scheme provides sufficient parking provision for the apartments, whilst also improving the material quality of the landscape alongside the creation of communal and private soft landscaping and amenity space.
