Windmill Cottage is a two-storey cottage situated in the village of Harley, Shropshire.
Overview
Base were approached with a brief to review the existing porch and front elevation to the cottage
The goal was to provide additional living and bedroom spaces alongside a review of the ground floor entrance space and the overall flow of the property.
What We Did
As the principle of a front extension can be quite contentious we worked closely with the local authority in order to achieve the most exciting design to meet the client’s brief as well as satisfying the planners from a visual impact perspective.
Following planning approval we then developed the scheme through the building regulations and tender stages of work.
Following a successful tender process we were then commissioned to carry out regular onsite inspections and to manage the contract administration stage of works up to completion of the scheme, ensuring all elements of the build phase were coordinated.
The result
We completed the 6 month defects snagging inspection in the spring of 2021.
The improvements that the project has made to the existing cottage in terms of both the internal spaces and the overall aesthetic have been fantastic and very well received by our clients.
